I realize I have been a total slacker in keeping up with this blog and what I had hoped to be somewhat of a journal to go in to Libby's baby book one day.
Uuuuggghh.
Well the week is here.
My last week (at least I think)
4 weeks ago I started seeing the Doctor once a week.
On Week 37 I was dilated to 1 CM. I was 75% effaced (which means that my cervix had already started softening.
This was a good thing since I have decided that I don't want to be induced.
I have been having some numbness in my arms and hands for quite some time, probably a month and a half....maybe longer.
It started as just some tingling in my fingers on my right hand.
My "shooting" hand of course.
On week 38 I went in for my appointment and she checked me again.
I was dilated to 3 CM, still 75 % effaced and Libby's head was at a -1.
Still good news.
She wouldn't have to induce me, she said she could just strip the membranes if necessary to get labor started.
The numbness just keeps getting worse.
Now in both hands (still mostly in the right)
This was the first week I didn't shoot any sessions, just edited and designed Christmas Cards.
So I called my acupuncturist to try and get some relief.
I saw her twice last week and it helped some for a bit.
Still not able to sleep for long periods of time at night.
Due to many factors not just the numbness in my arms, fingers and hands.
She placed needles strategically to help with the numbness AND the ripening of the uterus.
Let's get it started!!
I ended up losing a lot of my mucus plug the second time I went.
Week 39
Went to the acupuncturist again on Tuesday.
She did something a little different to try to "induce" labor.
She said it will help the uterus start to "work", but won't put me into labor UNLESS my
body was ready.
Guess it's not ready.
Typical girl right....taking her time!

I went in for my appointment yesterday.
Did the usual, weight, blood pressure and listen to the heartbeat.
Waited on the Dr. to come in.
She comes in and is worried about my blood pressure. Don't ask me what it was
because after I heard her say it was borderline high I'm pretty sure I don't
remember much after that.
She proceeded to check me and strip my membranes.
YEP.
If you don't know what that means....look it up!
I really don't know either. I know it's not "rupturing" the membranes b/c that would be breaking my water.
Basically her stripping them was supposed to put me into labor IF my body was ready.
Well nothing has happened so far.
I see the acupuncturist again in the morning and then
I go back tomorrow at 2:00 to the doctor and will see the midwife in the office and she will do it again.
Not really sure if I want her to.
It was not comfortable....AT ALL.
Hopefully my blood pressure will be okay and she won't have to.
By this point I am hoping to wait until Saturday, Sunday or Monday for her to come!
If nothing happens over the weekend I will go back Monday morning to be checked again.

It was so much fun...but it was HARD to stay under the water.
We both kept floating up. LOL!
