Libby Lou turns 12 months old

Libby went in for her 12 month check up and everything is looking great!
She's moved up to the 75 % in height and remains at the 50% for weight.
She started walking at about 12 1/2 months.
She's REALLY getting the hang of it now.
I've even seen her try to run a couple of times.

Her new word is "up" and she FINALLY started using her signs for Please and more.
She also says drink and no.
She wants whatever we have.

She naps twice a day usually 10 and 2-ish.
Mostly she is sleeping through the night, but still takes a bottle sometimes.
YES she is still on the bottle.
Not a battle I want to face right now.
Maybe after Christmas.
I tried putting her milk in a sippy cup, but she wasn't having it.
I say sippy cup, but she will not drink from a sippy cup unless it has a straw.
SILLY GIRL.

She is the funniest little thing.
Full of personality.
She loves to give kisses, it is SO SWEET.

My friend Nikki came to take our family pictures and we set this up for Libby's
official ONE year picture. I wanted her to have something that no one else has.
She adores her bunny that is sitting at her feet.
She sleeps with it every night.
I'm sad she's not really attached to a blanket like my other kids, but I guess a bunny will do!

Kerrville Texas Childrens Photographer: Libby Lou turns ONE

Libby Lou is TWELVE MONTHS old!
That's ONE YEAR OLD people.
Goodness....where did the time go?
One year ago here she was:
I am in awe every day of her.
There are hardly words.
I haven't even gotten emotional about the fact that she turned 1 until just now as I am writing this.
You can read about what she should be doing here:

If you can't tell by looking at these photos, this girl has some serious personality.
She is fun, loving, funny, opinionated, sweet, and a ball of energy.
She laughs at everything and is easily entertained.
I think I have said this before but her favorite place to be is outside. She gets so excited every time the door opens.

I am so thankful for my children.
They are such a blessing to our family.
I have no idea what we would do without them.
A couple of weeks ago I went to my 10 year college reunion and met some of my college roommates there. One of which has walked the journey of infertility with me.
When I got pregnant she was one of the first people I told.
It was a hard thing to tell her, because now, after 6 1/2 years I was on the other side.
I was "the one" it happened to.
I thought FOR SURE we would be pregnant at the same time.
Nope.
Anyway, a couple weeks ago when I saw her we were all sitting at dinner and she handed us a "present". It was a card and and as we opened it up THERE.IT.WAS.
That first sonogram.
She was pregnant.
Without any fertility drugs.
They had taken a break after rounds of In-vitro didn't take.
WOW.
GOD IS SO GOOD.
At that moment I remembered that feeling of getting that POSITIVE test.
And taking 3 more just to be sure.
I am beyond happy for my friend.

I swear she is the happiest kid.
She's spoiled rotten every where she goes.
I just can't imagine life without her.
I thank God every day knowing that my children are not mine, but His.
She's definitely a Mommy's girl.
This is the smile I get every time I pick her up from the nursery or "school".

It's funny to watch her when I am loving on Hadleigh.
She gets so jealous.
Tonight at the kitchen table I was hugging on H and kissing her and Libby was in her high chair.
She literally started throwing a fit.
The second I took my arms off H and paid attention to her.....she quit!
TURKEY!!

She absolutely adores her brother and sister and I hope that is how it always is.

And of course.....there's Mema!
So thankful for her being here in Kerrville.
If we ever move she will have to follow us or my kids will be devastated.
Thanks Mom for being the BEST Grandma to my kids.
I ordered Libby's birthday outfit from SheShe Made probably 5 or 6 months ago.
I LOVE it so much.
I bought this high chair a year ago knowing I would use it for her 1 year portraits and birthday party.
I wish I could remember where I ordered the hat so I could give them credit in this post.
I am so HAPPY with the way these pics came out.
My friend Nikki (who has MOXIE Photo Studio in SA) and I were planning and actual ONE YEAR SESSION with Libby, but ran out of time before the party.
I shot this quickly so I could have something to post at the party and we will do her session eventually!
The headband she is wearing below is from The Purple Chameleon. You can find her on FB and Etsy.
Her Tutu is from CambowsHairbows and you can find her on FB.

OH....and I will post party pics sometime this week.....STAY TUNED!!

Libby Lou turns 10 months old

Libby Lou turned 10 months old on September 2.
Here is what she should be doing

This past month she started eating kid food along with her baby food.
She prefers this over her baby food.
She wants to eat what we are eating.
So far she's had all kinds of veggies, chicken, fish, hamburger, french fries, eggs, pancakes and probably something else I can't think of right now.
She is crawling all over the place on her hands and feet. She rarely puts her knees down.
Her favorite place to be is outside or in the playroom with her brother and sister.
There is not one place she will not crawl to, through or under.
Libby is pulling up on everything and has been for quite some time now.
I absolutely LOVE her personality.
She laughs at everything.
Mostly her brother.
He's the funniest.
This month we went on vacation to a resort near Tyler.
As I posted before her favorite thing to do was the swimming pool there!
She really enjoys the water a lot.
There are always tears when we get out of the bathtub.
She is still not sleeping through the night.

She actually did really well for about a week and then she caught a cold and we are back to square one.
She says a few words.
Mama
Dada
Mo (more)
No
Uh-oh

She is absolutely the best addition to our little family.
1st "child" and 4th child.
Our first "baby" is very neglected.
I wish we were better parents to her.
Libby has fallen in love with Prancer. It's so cute.

My mom tells me that Libby has my temperament.
That and my blue eyes are about the only thing she got from me.
So far.

She is the hardest baby to console.
There's crying.
Throwing the head back.
Flailing of head and arms and feet.
I put her down she cries.
I pick her up she cries.
I put her down and she rolls back and forth on the carpet crying.
She won't console herself with a fussy. (aka: pacifier)

I love this age and hate this age.
You never know what is wrong with them.
Tummy?
Ear?
Teeth?
Hungry?
Too Full?
Fit?

During the day she is PERFECT.
She takes 2 naps when she's at home.
10 am and 2 pm
Bed at 8 pm

She RARELY cries.

There is definite "stranger danger" going on right now.
She wants me a lot.
I'm starting to have to sneak around so she doesn't see me when I pass by the nursery at church.

She is SO sweet.
She gives "snuggles" where she just puts her cheek against mine and just leaves it there.
She gives those awesome open mouth kisses.
Only now sometimes she starts to bite down with her teeth on my lips.
OUCH.

The sweetest little voice comes out of her mouth.
Oh, AND she learned how to drink through a straw!!

My Little Poppy Seed: Eight Months Old

Well Eight months have really flown by. My baby girl is sure growing and learning new things.

This last month she went on her first "Family" vacation. We traveled to Pampa, Tx - Amarillo, TX - and back home to Kerrville.

She started really crawling this month on her hand and knees and last Sunday (July 3) we caught a glimpse of her first tooth! Today she has TWO bottom teeth that have cut through.

She's started eating more table food including crackers, pancakes, sweet potatoes, french fries and a few other things.
She started pulling herself up on things too.
The first time she did it we were at a bounce house in Amarillo with our cousins.
She's very determined.
She's also starting to throw fits...if you can believe that.
I didn't remember it starting so early with the other two, but it has.
I'm trying to remember what it was, but she was playing with something and I took it away.
She busted into tears.
I didn't think twice about it, until I did it again.
(took something away from her that she shouldn't have had)
Erik didn't believe me until it happened to him!
She is wearing some 12 month clothes already....ONLY her pants...and that is b/c the cloth diaper is so big. LOL! I can't button the 6-9 month pants!! hahaha.
Although lately we just hang out in our diaper anyway, it's SO HOT!

I'm sure there is much more I should write about but my mind is blank at this moment.

My Little Poppy Seed: Four Months Old

She is looking great.

(whatever that means)

My Little Poppy Seed: Three Months Old

Today my baby turned 3 months old!
Where does the time go?
She is just a happy little girl.
She smiles and coos all the time.
She laughed at Erik the other day.
OF COURSE I went to get the camera AND the video camera.
Came back with both.
She wouldn't do it again! ha!
We just love her so very much and thank GOD for her every day.
She is eating great and growing just as she should.

She is weighing around 12 pounds or so now and is about 23 inches long.
We are FINALLY getting to know her cries and it is so WONDERFUL.
Less STRESS for me.
Erik seems to think she is becoming more of a Momma's girl (which of course I like.)
He says he doesn't have the magic touch anymore to calm her down.
I guess that's ONE benefit to being a SAHM.

As you can tell she is VERY strong and is doing great at holding her head up.
She LOVES to be on her tummy and therefore sleeps on her tummy A LOT!!
I know I know, they say not to put them on their tummy, but for me SLEEP is SLEEP.
We both get more of it this way.
Her eating habits haven't changed too much, although this week has been a little different.
More about that later.

This month we got to see Grandma (from California) again.
She came to stay with us while Daddy was away at school.
She is such a big help when she is here and we miss her.
Mema has also got to spend more time with us now that we are back to our regular routine.
She comes over at least every Wednesday to eat and play.
We took our first LONG road trip in the car to Corpus Christi.
We got to see Aunt Tawny and and play with Kya.
Hadleigh and Kya got along GREAT! They had so much fun playing the dancing game on the Wi.
Hadleigh talks about it EVERY day and watches herself on the video on my phone.

Libby DOES NOT like to be in her car seat.
The trip to Corpus was actually pretty good, but on the way back was a different story.
I'm pretty sure she cried 3/4 of the way. Poor Mema had to twist and turn and do all kinds of tricks to make her happy.

This is my assistant photographer, Hadleigh Jane. She helped me out on my photoshoot of
Libby's 3 month pics today! She's pretty good if I do say so myself!
She got her to smile for me and look at the camera a few times.

Cannot believe how long she is getting. She is just the sweetest little thing.
She loves it when her brother and sister talk to her.
She smiles every time.
Hadleigh has gotten to rock her to sleep a few times. She doesn't even flinch when she cries.
She just starts singing to her.
I think her two favorite songs to sing are
"This Little Light of Mine"
and
"I Love You" (a bushel and a peck)

I had to pack up all her Newborn and 0-3 month clothes this month.
She's already growing out of them.
So sad!
I don't think she got to wear more than 1/2 of them.
Thank goodness most of them were either borrowed or Hadleigh's hand-me-downs.

I think I need to write more than once a month.
I'm having a hard time remembering what happened this past month.

We made it back to church finally.
The first two weeks back I kept Libby with me.
This past Sunday was her first week in the nursery.
Insert SAD FACE here!
Of course she did GREAT!
All the ladies just love to hold her, so I know she is well taken care of.
Erik MADE me do it!
He said since he is the Children's Minister I should set an example!
:)

So now 3 of the 6 babies that were born before Christmas are together in the nursery.
SO FUN!!

My Little Poppy Seed: Two Months Old

Baby Girl turned 2 months old yesterday and I cannot believe it!
Read about what she should be doing here.

We went to the Dr. today and she is
11 pounds 10 ounces
23 inches long
She's moved up to the 75-90% percentile on her growth chart.
Doing SUPER!

My mom made this sweet blanket for Libby. I LOVE it!
Next month I will show you the other side! I couldn't get the whole thing in the photo, but there is a little girl under her skirt and the back of the blanket is in that material.
She really started smiling ALL the time while we were away on our vacation to California for Christmas. We were gone for 11 days and actually spent Christmas day at Erik's mom's house. I think this is the FIRST Christmas EVER that I have been away from my mom! We missed her terribly, but had a GREAT time with Erik's family and friends. It was a little chilly and rainy most of the time we were there.

She is growing fast. She can't wear ANY of her newborn clothes anymore. She is now eating between 6 and 8 ounces at a time! We started supplementing her with Goat Milk instead of formula about a month ago. Supposedly it's the "closest" thing to mother's milk. She likes it really well. We don't have much spitting up at all. She was sometimes puking up the formula so we switched. I give her a daily dose of Infant vitamins that we got from the health food store so she can get what she needs since she's only getting about 8-12 ounces of Breast Milk a day.

I am still breast feeding. Now instead of doing it after I bottle feed I am doing it first. She lasts about 5-7 minutes on each side and then I give her a bottle. Usually 3-4 ounces of either goat milk or expressed breast milk.
OBVIOUSLY she is gaining weight!
haha!
She actually has little rolls around her thighs....maybe I will photograph that next month.
She is sleeping about the same. Waking up once during the night to feed. Sometimes I just nurse her in bed and she goes back to sleep, but sometimes she is so HUNGRY she won't nurse. She wants the easy way out.

 Nose and Lips.
TWO of my most FAVORITE things about her.

This is my sweet Libby.
She is not an easy baby by any means.
My Pedi said that from the beginning.
The ones that cause you trouble from the beginning will always be that way.
she said that JOKINGLY btw!

She definitely needs constant attention.
She doesn't want to be put down.
She hates her car seat!
She's awake more than she sleeps.
She's already having to compete with Big Brother and Big Sister.
You can't miss her girly squeal!
She loves to sleep on her belly.
She smiles ALL the time, especially when you talk to her!
She LOVES her big Sis already....smiles and coos at her too!
I love their interaction with each other. Hadleigh wants to hold her all the time. She is a big helper....getting her "fussy" (aka pacifier....Hadleigh named it), tries to calm her when she cries, feeds her.
